Bitcoin failed to maintain growth and ended May in the red

May 2026 turned out to be Bitcoin ambiguous. At the beginning of the month, the first cryptocurrency was trading in the range of about $76 00078 000, demonstrating attempts to continue the upward movement.
During the month, BTC managed to rise above the $80 000 mark, but it was not possible to consolidate at these levels. Closer to the end of May, pressure on the market increased, leading to a gradual decline in quotations.
By the end of the month Bitcoin fell to around $73 00074 000, ending May with a drawdown of about 46% from the starting values. Despite the correction, the asset retained the status of the main benchmark for the entire cryptocurrency market.
