Bitcoin developers have begun experimental testing of new mechanisms to protect the network from potential threats of quantum computing. For this purpose, a special test network called Bitcoin Quantum testnet has been launched.

As part of the experiment, a new type of transaction is being tested, using alternative cryptographic signatures. It is assumed that such signatures will be able to maintain resilience even with the emergence of more powerful computing technologies.

The test network allows developers to evaluate the performance of new transaction schemes, check the load on the network, and understand how such solutions can be integrated into the main Bitcoin protocol.

While the project is experimental in nature, it shows that developers are already working on the future security of the blockchain and are looking for ways to strengthen the network's protection in the long term.
